Course Outcome

At the end of the course students will be able to:

1.                  Identify the importance of mathematical concepts behind cryptographic algorithms and understand modular arithmetic and primes used in the field of cryptography.

2.                   

a.    Understand the importance of security in the field of communication.

b.   Explain the techniques of encryption.

c.    Apply Symmetric Key Encryption techniques in various situations and do its security analysis.

3.                   

a.    Apply Asymmetric Key Encryption techniques in various situations and do its security analysis.

b.   Understand the need for integrity and authentication.

c.    Apply the knowledge of Hash functions and Digital signature for secure    communication.

4.                           Understand network security design solutions like PGP, SSL, IPSec and TLS.


This is a mandatory subject for S8 CSE students.
